UOM is short for Unit of Measure. This is how you tell apart a single widget from a case of them on your inventory records. The UOM module in Boxstorm allows you to create and store as many units of measure as you like.

The UOM Help Article shows you how to create a UOM and also set up conversions between each one. For example, you can have two units of measure, like inches and feet, you can create a conversion rate of 12 inches to 1 foot. And you can do that with any measurements that are related, such as by weight, length, volume, etc.
